Jamie 'Winkle' Slater
An inquisitive mind and an eager attitude in all things wholesome gave a young Jamie the desire to further his knowledge on what seemed to drive him the most... eclectic sounds and psychedelic visions! The original seed was planted by his much loved and dearly respected older brother who preached to a newly double figured Slater that The Beatles Sgt Peppers LP and such was gospel, and although John Lennon's words didn't make much sense it didn't take long for him to find a refined sense of belonging.
This kicked started a constant struggle to dig deeper and deeper and get down to some heavy shit! The passion unfolded after a few years down the line when as a teenager he found a new vice... hip hop.
The sample heavy delights of The Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest and the rest of those cats paved the way for an influx of extra terrestrial heaviness.
DJ/Producers Shadow, Cam and Krush emphasised the necessity to get involved and turntables were added to the equation, which then in turn stopped the tracks from stopping, as the turntables were then on constant rotation......
now it's all about the groove.....and it just don't stop :O
